Time Out for ART Politics

If you can take a minute to show your support of art and let our government know, maybe we can grow.

Please Follow This Link to Take Action on Important Arts Issues

http://capwiz.com/artsusa/issues/alert/?alertid=9521951

One situtation here in Maine that effects artists is the "re-seller's" license. They have recently changed the criteria that allows a business to possess one, specifically your business must earn $15,000 annually. So, a small artist, crafter or street artist trying to make a living with collage or painting, wood carving etc would not be allowed to purchase art materials at wholesale costs to support their business without this license they can't afford to be artists and buy their materials, it's shooting us in the foot! There has to be a solution that will support the artist. Not all of us can be Walmart and have huge sales, nor should we.

We need art in our schools and in our communities.

SUPPORT THE ARTS. Thank you!

(now back to your regularly scheduled creating!)

What have I been doing?

HIBERNATING!

We have been getting a storm once or twice PER WEEK up here, DH is tired of snowblowing and I don't want to leave the house!

Good for me because I've been very busy designing.

Stay tuned for exciting updates, ONLINE CLASSES to appear at www.heartinhandscraps.com and www.craftedonline.com will have LIVE WEBCAM CLASSES!

Meanwhile, I'm trying to stay warm and fight sun-deprivation. Hey, why don't you stop over to www.craftgate.com and see what's going on, lots of crafty inspiration there, we're having a revival movement to save crafting and make it popular again.

Is it Spring yet really?

My apologies for the delay in announcing the Feb Flourishes contest winner, all of the entries are fantastic and have been safely filed away upon receipt.

WD-40 For Crafters!

I received a nice box of goodies today! WD-40 brand has many new products that crafters never knew they couldn't live without. Inky fingers? Could be your trademark, or if you'd like to get them really clean without damaging your skin, try Lava Soap; it comes in a bar or pump bottle. Ever drop your ink pad on your carpeted floor or fabric chair? Try the Spot Shot Instant Carpet Stain Remover, you will be amazed! Also introducing the new WD-40 No Mess Pen. WD-40 where you want it and no where else! works great on punches and other tools, remove stickers, and other stickiness from your projects, leak proof and won't dry out.

I have found these new products to be a savior of carpet and skin. I am happy to pass the information on to you. Cheers!
