YES, I was shaking!

Which is why this fantastic photo isn't as perfect as she is. Can you blame me? This is the first game of the season and my 13 yo daughter is a STARTER for the Sanford Jr. High Football team. She's AWESOME. I'm so proud of her, but as a Mom, it gets my blood pressure up with worry. It was the same when Jared played too. The close- up photo was taken AFTER the game was finished, Sanford won!! woohoo!

SUCCESSFUL RETREAT WEEKEND!

The first dry weekend in a LONG time, the weather was perfect for the 2nd Annual Keepsake Designs Retreat Weekend in Boothbay, ME! Saturday was beautiful! We visited the new scrapbooking store, what a treat, it's under the green awning in the street photo, Personal Creations is the name; she gave us retreat goers a 10% discount for visiting. THANK YOU!

Jim and Geri have sold Kenniston Hill Inn, the new Owner Diane Ward was on hand to greet us as well, we were the "learning curve" retreat for the new owner!! Jim and Geri will be sorely missed, their hospitality was above and beyond.

RETREAT POSTPONED: April 20-22

I will be attending an event with Spellbinders in Boston for the weekend of March 23-25 and therefore the Keepsake Designs Annual Crop Retreat is postponed to April 20-22.

KISS CONVENTION WAS A BLAST!

Thanks to my friend Teri Weber for making me feel special, she attended my first class of the day and created this gorgeous Batik Covered Journal.

I had so much fun at the convention, meeting my online friends and meeting new ones. I hope to see you there next year!

The other two classes I taught were just as messy and fun as the first. Incase you have never taken a class with me, all of my classes are technique based. I want you to walk away with KNOWLEDGE, learn something to take home and use again, I think it's a better value for your money than just assembling someone else's idea. For the RANGER Colorwash class we played with rubberstamp resist with embossing and created 5 unique backgrounds. Then they selected their favorite creation to make their layout. I love offering choices so you have the freedom to create.

The final class of the day started with a fun new product called "FUN FRAME" by Hearts in Touch. It's a die cut with a magnificent finish that takes ink and other mediums so well. You fold and assemble the die cut to create a three dimensional frame, we created a simple layout then turned it into a shaker box full of micro beads and glitter with a beaded handle. You do not need a handle for the Fun Frame, there are built in hangers on the die cut.

Budget Scrapbooking

I am a frugal scrapper, always have been. Probably just because I am a frugal person in general, I'm always looking for ways to save money by making it myself. I love to create my own hand made embellishments, it gives you a sense of completion as well as having a one-of-a-kind accent for your scrapbooks. I don't want my pages to look like everyone elses. This month, my S.S.Reflections article focuses on a few ideas to help you save money: making your own chipboard accents, recycling: postcards, decorative accents and clothing tags, and finding inexpensive fabric flowers.

Ranger Inkling Layout

Here is a layout I did for Ranger Industries as an inkling on their yahoo group. I used their new Crackle Accents medium. I had fun with it and inked over the crackle after it was dry.
